Château de Puyguilhem
34 km from Périgueux, in the Dordogne, the elegant Renaissance silhouette of the Château de Puyguilhem stands in green surroundings. Built in the first third of the 16th century, it was inspired by the great châteaux of the Loire.
This early Renaissance château is worthy of the finest residences of the Loire valley in the time of Francis I. It is characterised by great harmony of volumes, as shown by the main building flanked by towers and turrets of varied shapes and the façade pierced by mullioned windows.
