Château de Pisy
The Château de Pisy stands on the edge of the village of Pisy, in the Yonne, on the threshold of the Auxois. It is a fortified medieval seigneurial residence founded in 1235: that year, Guy I d'Arcis, from a junior branch of the powerful Montréal family, obtained permission from his cousin Anséric VI de Montréal to build a fortified house there.
The historian Victor Petit saw this castle as the most important building to survive in the area after the feudal fortress of Semur, and a remarkable example of military architecture.
A private property protected as a historic monument, it can mainly be seen from the outside; no recent information confirms that visits are offered.
