Château de Piogé

Deux-Sèvres, Nouvelle-Aquitaine

The square fortress of Piogé, in the Deux-Sèvres, dominates the buildings and the curtain wall that make up the château. The keep dates from the 12th century and was rebuilt in the 14th; the chapel is 13th-century; the residence dates from the late 15th or early 16th century and was rearranged in the 18th and 20th centuries; and the outbuildings are 17th-century.

All the buildings that make up the château, together with the ground on which they stand, are protected as historic monuments.
