Château de Montmarin
The château de Montmarin overlooks the Rance, at Pleurtuit, in Ille-et-Vilaine, and opens onto a stretch of water more than a kilometre wide. The estate has been listed as a historic monument since 1966.
Its park of about six hectares has two parts: the formal gardens, designed in the eighteenth century, and the 1885 Romantic park, with lawns, groves, shrub beds and rockeries, which descends to the Rance in four successive terraces. The park is listed and labelled "Jardin remarquable".
The gardens are open to visitors in season. Formerly private apartments, including the great drawing room, were announced as open to the public for summer 2026.
