Château de Mirabeau
The castle of Mirabeau, in the Vaucluse, is recorded as a fortress from the 12th century and was later destroyed. The present building was probably built in the last quarter of the 16th century or the first half of the 17th for the Riqueti family, enlarged with north and west wings in the 18th century, and restored and altered between 1857 and 1896.
Until the Revolution, the château was fronted to the south by a bailey whose wall had two round towers the same size as the four that survive, all with conical roofs. Only the exterior can be seen.
