Château de la Bourbansais
The château de la Bourbansais is a château open to the public at Pleugueneuc, in Ille-et-Vilaine, next to the Bourbansais zoo. Built in the sixteenth century on the site of a former Gallo-Roman villa and updated in the eighteenth century, it is one of the most harmonious of the great Breton châteaux, with its Mansart-style pavilions, its chapel matching the cellar, and the dovecote and fruit store framing the moats.
In 1991, Count Olivier de Lorgeril took over the running of the estate. The château and zoo make a pleasant family outing, between heritage, gardens and animals.
