Château de Beauvais (Gévezé)
The Château de Beauvais is at Gévezé, north of Rennes, in the Ille-et-Vilaine. A manor, called the hostel de Beauvois in 1427, preceded the present château, which mostly dates from the 17th century. Louis XIV raised the seigneury to a county in 1680.
The plan is L-shaped, with two round towers and a central square tower. Most of the rooms have kept their Régence-period panelling, and the main staircase is of granite. The earth-built dovecote and the walled kitchen garden are also protected.
The building has been listed as a historic monument since 2009. The sources consulted give no information about visits.
