Château de Digoine

Saône-et-Loire, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté

In the heart of the Charolais, in southern Burgundy, the Château de Digoine is one of the most charming and attractive 18th-century French châteaux.

It is surrounded by a large 35-hectare landscaped park with a lake, a French formal garden with a unique greenhouse of 1830 and two-hundred-year-old orange trees in tubs. Digoine also has the rare privilege of housing a surprising small private Italian-style theatre built in 1842. The whole estate, listed as a historic monument, is open to the public.
