Château de Beaumont-sur-Oise
Of the feudal castle of Beaumont, one of the most important in the Oise valley, only the curtain walls, probably originally fronted by a ditch, and the keep survive.
The outside of the curtain wall is characteristic of defensive architecture: the outer facing is doubled in depth to increase its strength. The inner side, not exposed to danger, is built of smaller, less carefully dressed stone blocks.
