Cascade de Vegay
The Vegay waterfall is in the commune of Aiglun, in the Alpes-Maritimes, close to the Clue d'Aiglun. Hiking guides give its height as more than 140 metres, which makes it a remarkable waterfall for the area.
It is reached on foot by a path from the village of Aiglun or from the hamlet of Vascognes, in about half an hour to the main fall from the latter. The climb back up remains demanding. Access to the canyon itself, however, is reported as forbidden by some canyoning accounts.
The visit combines well with the Clue d'Aiglun, a gorge about 2 km long with walls 200 to 400 metres high, and with the cave dwellings in the surrounding area. Good walking shoes are recommended.
