Cascade de la Tuffière
The Rolampont tufa cascade is the largest tufa formation in the Haute-Marne in height (20 metres), volume and extent (150 metres wide and 250 metres long). It is in fact the largest in north-eastern France.
The site adjoins a large 490-hectare forest in the commune of Rolampont, to the west, in a notch of a valley south of the road to Villiers-sur-Suize, halfway between Langres and Chaumont, close to the N19 and the A5 motorway.
It is a genuine natural geological curiosity, a remarkable petrifying waterfall, with Cratoneuron moss communities in very good condition.
