You enter the town by the Porte de Garde that opens in the ramparts, then you discover the little old streets, the vaults, the lanes lined with often flowered houses. In the village's Romanesque church there is a very fine altarpiece depicting the Martyrdom of Saint Sebastian.
On the esplanade of the twelfth-century château of the Sabran de Pontevès family, the chapel dedicated to Notre-Dame des Sept Douleurs was completed in 1608. It recalls the day of ill memory in 1595 when the local lord Antoine de Pontevès was murdered by villagers during a mass. To preserve the silence and charm of this marvellous village, the municipality had the good idea of banning car traffic.
