Aiguèze
Aiguèze is a small medieval village of the Gard, ranked among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. It overlooks, from the cliff, the exit of the Ardèche gorges. One side is perched on the cliff above the gorges, the other faces the Côtes du Rhône vineyards. The territory includes two Natura 2000 sites and the Ardèche gorges national nature reserve.
A calm, friendly village, under century-old plane trees, it offers sites to visit: the Saracen tower, the keep and the stone lanes. The view over the gorges is remarkable. Aiguèze is also a good starting point for canoeing down the Ardèche or for walks in the garrigue.
