Valmeinier
On the border between the Northern and Southern Alps, Valmeinier lies in the heart of the Maurienne valley, in the Savoie. The resort has two parts: a village resort that has kept its character, and a high resort at 1,800 metres, with restrained architecture well integrated into the site. It is a human-scale resort popular with families.
Valmeinier shares its ski area with Valloire in the linked Galibier-Thabor area: 150 kilometres of runs of all levels across four massifs. About 70% of the area lies above 2,000 metres, ensuring good snow cover from December to April.
