Valloire

Valloire is a commune in the Savoie, the southernmost in the département. It lies on the Route des Grandes Alpes, which links Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean, not far from the Italian border, in the centre of the Maurienne valley.

This village of seventeen hamlets and about 1,330 inhabitants is a winter sports resort that keeps its authentic Savoyard mountain charm. Set at 1,430 metres between the legendary Col du Galibier and the Col du Télégraphe, Valloire is bordered by a stream flowing down to Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne, the Valloirette.
