Sentier des Merveilles (Sidobre)
The Sentier des Merveilles is a walk through the granite boulder fields of the Sidobre, at Lacrouzette, in the Tarn. The Sidobre is a forested granite plateau of more than ten thousand hectares, about ten kilometres east of Castres, famous for its rounded blocks of surprising shapes, stacked or balanced on one another. The commune is in the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park.
The trail winds among moss, heather and huge rocks in a woodland setting. The ground is uneven, so good shoes are needed. The walk is easy and suitable for families, and combines with the other Sidobre sites, such as the Roc de l'Oie, the Lac du Merle and the granite quarries, for a day in one of the finest landscapes of the Tarn.
