Sabot de Frotey
On the heights of the village of Frotey-lès-Vesoul, in the Haute-Saône, stands the Sabot de Frotey, a striking limestone rock formation shaped by erosion, whose outline suggests a clog set on the edge of the plateau.
The site is protected within the Sabot de Frotey National Nature Reserve, known for its limestone grassland and remarkable flora. A waymarked hiking trail leads to the rock and offers, from the top, a view over the town of Vesoul and the Durgeon valley.
