Rocher des Aigles
The Rocher des Aigles is a park devoted to birds of prey, set at Rocamadour, in the Lot. Its main attraction is a commented show of birds in free flight, with eagles, vultures, kites, falcons, owls and eagle-owls, but also parrots.
The public discovers the speed of falcons, the spectacular fishing of eagles and the acrobatics of kites, while a keeper explains the way of life of each species. The shows last about fifty minutes and the route also lets you discover aviaries.
The site also plays the role of a breeding and rescue centre: it takes in injured birds, entrusted by gamekeepers, and breeds rare species in captivity. The opening season runs from spring to late summer. An outing suited to families during a stay in the Dordogne valley.
