Reptiland
Reptiland is a park devoted to reptiles, at Martel, in the north of the Lot. It was founded in 1990 by François Gouygou and his wife, out of passion for these animals, with the idea of showing them in a light other than that of danger.
The park presents more than two hundred animals belonging to more than a hundred species: snakes, crocodilians, lizards, monitors, iguanas, tortoises, but also tarantulas and scorpions. The animals are shown in daylight in greenhouses recreating varied environments, along a numbered, themed route that passes notably through the tropical greenhouse, the elapid greenhouse and the desert greenhouse.
Feedings commented on by the keepers take place during the day. The park also offers a keeper's day for children from age eight, as well as a programme to help people who are afraid of snakes or spiders.
