Parc Animalier de Labenne Océan
The Parc Animalier de Labenne Océan, also called the Labenne Zoo, is a small family zoo in a pine forest on the southern Landes coast, near the ocean, about twenty minutes from Bayonne and Hossegor.
It has a varied fauna, including Madagascan lemurs, wolves, lynx, servals, meerkats, zebras, flamingos, llamas, kangaroos, emus, dromedaries and parrots. Children can approach and feed some animals, such as the dwarf goats in the mini-farm.
The park emphasises education and awareness of endangered species, with seasonal activities and a 'keeper for a day' experience. A picnic area, a playground and a snack bar with terrace let families extend their visit. The site is accessible to pushchairs and people with reduced mobility.
