Muséum d'histoire naturelle de Bourges

Cher, Centre-Val de Loire

Founded in the early 20th century, the Natural History Museum of Bourges, in the Cher, holds at least 150,000 specimens from nature, bearing witness to the whole of the world's biodiversity.

It has 2,000 m² of permanent exhibitions on science and nature and presents three or four temporary exhibitions each year, including the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year. Meetings, talks and events with specialists and enthusiasts punctuate the programme. Since reopening in 1989, the museum has specialised in the study of bats.
