Musée des beaux-arts de Dijon
In the heart of Burgundy, the Dijon Fine Arts Museum is one of the oldest in France, with origins going back to the Ancien Régime. The legacy of the dukes of Burgundy means it holds undisputed masterpieces of the late Middle Ages. Its encyclopaedic collections, stemming both from the founding period of the Revolution and from the curiosity of collectors, invite the most varied discoveries, from Egyptian art to the 21st century.
The museum is housed in the former palace of the dukes of Burgundy and the eastern part of the Palais des États. As such, it is an essential testimony to the art and history of Burgundy from the late Middle Ages to the end of the 19th century.
