Musée des arts asiatiques Guimet

Paris, Île-de-France

From its creation by Émile Guimet in 1889 to today, the museum has never stopped enriching its collections and diversifying them. Presenting 5 millennia of Asian arts, time has not stood still at the Musée Guimet: in its clean-lined spaces, you will sometimes be surprised to come across installations by contemporary artists around a corner.

From the Buddhas of Afghanistan to the Zen monks of Japan, from Indian textiles to samurai armour, from the treasures of Angkor to the refined arts of China, the Musée Guimet offers unique collections, which are so many opportunities for meditative, aesthetic or exploratory journeys into the heart of Asia. Renovated in a masterly and contemporary way, it is the largest European museum entirely devoted to Asian arts.
