Musée de la résistance et de la déportation de Picardie
The town of Tergnier, in the Aisne, has a museum devoted to the history of Resistance fighters and deportees. It explains the period from Hitler's rise to power to Marshal Pétain's broadcast of 17 June 1940, the importance of the appeal of 18 June 1940, the birth and action of the Resistance, daily life under the Occupation, repression and deportation.
A room for talks, temporary exhibitions and screenings, a media library and a documentation centre complete this living history centre, open to all and especially to younger generations.
