Musée de la Bière

Meuse, Grand Est

The Beer Museum is in Stenay (Meuse), 17 rue du Moulin. It is set in the former grain store of the citadel, built between 1609 and 1615, later turned into a malthouse. Opened in 1986, it is classed as a Musée de France and has about 2,500 m² of exhibition space.

The playful, interactive route uses games, soundscapes, projections and reconstructions to explain the brewing world simply: beer making, tools and trades, history of the drink. Outside, a garden brings together many plants used to flavour beers.

The visit ends in the tavern, where you can taste beers of different fermentation types and buy local products. The museum also organises concerts, tastings and workshops for families throughout the year, as well as an annual festival with guided tours and a cooperage demonstration.
