Musée dauphinois

Isère, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Musée Dauphinois is a departmental museum, run by the Isère departmental council, in Grenoble. It is a museum of ethnography, archaeology, history and society covering the former French province of the Dauphiné, and holds the "Musée de France" label. Created in 1906, it was then the third museum in Grenoble. It successively moved into two historic seventeenth-century buildings, the former chapel of Sainte-Marie d'en-Bas, then from 1968 the former convent of Sainte-Marie d'en-Haut, a listed historic monument.
