Méribel

Savoie, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

Méribel is a resort of the Tarentaise, in Savoie, in the heart of the Allues valley, above Brides-les-Bains. It depends on the commune of Les Allues and is made up of several tiered sites: Méribel-Village, Méribel-centre and Méribel-Mottaret, the highest in the valley.

The resort is renowned for its respect of Savoyard architecture: building rules imposed from the start the use of wood, stone and lauze or slate, which gives the whole a unity of chalets.

It occupies the centre of the Trois Vallées area, one of the largest linked ski areas in the world, with more than 600 kilometres of pistes shared with Courchevel, Les Menuires and Val Thorens. In summer, hiking and mountain-bike trails, as well as Lac de la Tuéda, in the Vanoise national park, are appreciated walking destinations.
