Mémorial de Montormel
In August 1944, nine Allied divisions encircled 100,000 Germans in the Falaise-Chambois pocket, bringing the Battle of Normandy to an end. Standing on the battlefield itself, between Argentan and Vimoutiers, the Montormel Memorial offers an exceptional view over the Dives valley.
The museum describes the scale and stakes of the battle through a film, a sound-and-light presentation and a guide's explanations. The Coudehard-Montormel memorial is a history museum on Mont Ormel, in the Orne, devoted to the Battle of the Falaise Pocket, the last episode of the Battle of Normandy.
