Haras du Pin
Built in the 18th century on the orders of Louis XIV, the Haras National du Pin, in the Orne, is the oldest of the twenty national studs. It has about fifty stallions of ten different breeds serving horse breeding, the breeding season running from February to July.
From June to September, the 'Jeudis du Pin' offer a weekly afternoon presentation of carriages and stallions set to music. A museum area devoted to the horse completes the visit with a lively, in-depth introduction to the world of horses.
