Maison de Georges Clemenceau

Vendée, Pays de la Loire

At Saint-Vincent-sur-Jard, in the Vendée, between the ocean and the fisherman's house he rented, Georges Clemenceau, the 'Father of Victory' and a close friend of Claude Monet, succeeded in creating a garden on the dunes.

The house has remained as it was at his death in 1929, with its furniture and mementoes. It holds the 'Maisons des Illustres' label and has been registered as a historic monument since 1970. The garden can be visited freely.
