Les cascades d'Orgon

Gard, Occitanie

The Orgon waterfalls are on the southern slope of Mont Aigoual, in the commune of Arphy, near Le Vigan, in the Gard. They are formed by the Coudoulous, whose highest fall is more than thirty metres. A footbridge above the falls offers a view over the valley.

Below the falls, natural pools are popular for swimming in summer. The site can be explored on hiking trails, including a loop of about ten kilometres with a fairly steep descent after the falls, as well as by mountain bike and canyoning.

The commune of Arphy stretches from the Aigoual state forest to the entrance of Aulas, following the Coudoulous. The 17th-century Château du Fesq is also worth seeing.
