Le Jardin aux Oiseaux
Le Jardin aux Oiseaux is a zoological and botanical park devoted to birds, at Upie, in the Drôme, in the Chabeluc district. It extends over about six hectares of hilly, shaded land, with aviaries and landscaped areas.
Several hundred birds of many species from every continent are presented: exotic birds as well as local species. The park offers bird-of-prey flight demonstrations and interactive encounters with parrots, letting you see these animals up close with the keepers.
A mini-farm welcomes children, who can approach, stroke and feed some animals. The visit suits a family outing, at everyone's own pace, in green surroundings.
The park has no restaurant; visitors are invited to bring a picnic. In the Rhône valley, south of Valence, it is easy to combine with other visits in the area.
