Aquarium des Tropiques
The Aquarium des Tropiques, at Allex in the Drôme, presents several hundred tropical freshwater fish in several dozen tanks. The route travels through five regions of the world and shows the aquatic life of their rivers and great lakes, especially those of Africa.
Each tank gives a close view of often surprising behaviour, specific to each habitat. A free audio guide is available in several languages.
The aquarium is especially suited to families: fun educational workshops introduce children to fish biology and behaviour, and school groups find a practical way to explore the diversity of life. On the road to Crest, in the Drôme valley, it is an easy outing to fit into a stay in the area, especially in uncertain weather.
