Le Chemin de Fer du Montenvers

Haute-Savoie, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

No need to introduce the little Montenvers rack railway that takes us to the edge of the equally famous Mer de Glace glacier. This excursion was already very fashionable among nineteenth-century tourists who then went there on mule-back. It gives us an extraordinary panorama in the heart of the Massif over the Aiguilles de Chamonix, the Drus and the Grandes Jorasses. Visiting the Cave dug in the flanks of the Mer de Glace is a must for every visitor to the Mont Blanc Massif.
