Tramway du Mont-Blanc

Haute-Savoie, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Mont Blanc tramway, or TMB, is a rack railway line in the Mont Blanc massif linking the Saint-Gervais SNCF station (altitude 580 m) to the Bionnassay glacier (Nid d'Aigle station (TMB), altitude 2,372 m) in Haute-Savoie. Originally the line was to reach the summit of Mont Blanc. It is the highest railway line in France. The line is operated by the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc, which also manages many ski-lift installations in the Mont Blanc massif, including the Montenvers railway.
