Le Chemin de Fer de la Baie de Somme
The Bay of Somme lies 2 hours north of Paris. The great beaches of Le Crotoy attracted the early days of aviation. It is the holiday resort of the early century, of "sea bathing", when the beaches of Le Crotoy knew their hour of glory. Neglected in the mid-20th century for the more fashionable Côte d'Azur, the Bay of Somme has been preserved, and now offers magnificent landscapes.
The little train lets you discover the many aspects of the Bay of Somme. From the coastal town of Le Crotoy, you can reach Saint-Valery-sur-Somme, passing along the dyke through the salt meadows. The railway will take you if you wish to Cayeux-sur-Mer and its little beach huts that will no doubt remind you of the beaches of old…
