Lautrec
Lautrec welcomes you in the picturesque setting of one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France. A former viscounty, it is the cradle of the Toulouse-Lautrec family of which the poster painter is the illustrious descendant. On arriving at Lautrec you will be surprised by its rich heritage, a veritable history book placed before your eyes. You will wander small lanes with half-timbered, corbelled houses. You will explore unusual places that have crossed the ages such as the old Saint-Rémy wash-house, the windmill, the clog-maker's workshop, the bakehouse of the Benedictine nuns' convent, the central square with its fifteenth-century arcades, the collegiate church of Saint-Rémy… You can also follow the remains of the ramparts that long protected this stronghold of the Pays de Cocagne. Lautrec also owes its renown to the production of Pink Garlic, which makes the village one of the remarkable sites of taste.
