Lac des Cammazes
The Lac des Cammazes is a reservoir in the Montagne Noire, in the Tarn, formed by the Cammazes dam. It supplies drinking water to Revel and neighbouring communes and lies among large conifer forests that run down to the water, with quiet shores and viewpoints from the dam.
The site suits a quiet walk, photography and relaxing in nature. The water level varies with the seasons and drought, which greatly changes the look of the banks. It combines with a visit to Revel and its market hall, the Saint-Ferréol reservoir and the villages of the Montagne Noire, as well as the nearby Lac du Lampy, in the Aude.
