Lac de Pierre-Percée

Meurthe-et-Moselle, Grand Est

Lake Pierre-Percée is the largest artificial lake in Lorraine, with an area of 304 hectares and 32 kilometres of shoreline. Created in 1974 by the building of a dam on the Rabodeau, it occupies a former wooded valley of the Vosges massif, surrounded by firs and broadleaf trees. Its shape cut into many arms and its preserved forest setting have earned it comparison with the great Canadian lakes. The site today welcomes sailing, canoeing, fishing and hiking along its banks.
