Château de Gerbéviller

Meurthe-et-Moselle, Grand Est

A castle existed at Gerbéviller, in the Meurthe-et-Moselle, from the 12th century, though its exact site is unknown. It was destroyed by the armies of the Duke of Burgundy.

The park and gardens are protected as a natural site and registered as historic monuments, as is the château. The Pavillon Rouge and the Nymphaeum are listed historic monuments. A restoration programme for the Nymphaeum, reinstating its interior décor and water features, is under way with support from the département and the region.
