La Grande Cascade du Mont-Dore
The Grande Cascade rises on the wind-swept plateau of the Durbise at 1,450 m altitude. It spans a succession of old lava flows about forty metres thick.
A pleasant walk will let you reach this remarkable site; the Grande Cascade is one of the highest in Auvergne with its falls of about thirty metres, from where you will have a very fine viewpoint.
The Mont-Dore waterfalls are in the commune of Le Mont-Dore, in the Puy-de-Dôme. The four most interesting falls are a walking destination for visitors to the spa resort.
