Jardin Zoologique Tropical
An ornithological and botanical space, the Tropical Bird Garden at La Londe-les-Maures, in the Var, is above all a centre for acclimatisation, conservation and study. It is an exceptional genetic reserve of endangered species.
Its animal collection stands out for the rarity of the birds on show: hornbills from Asian forests, very rare curassows from Latin America, large Brazilian parrots and multicoloured Australian cockatoos. As well as this unique fauna, several hundred species of often rare exotic plants are grown here. Many palms, cacti, giant bamboos, eucalyptus and other southern plants give the park a true tropical atmosphere.
