Grottes de Nichet
The Nichet cave is at Fromelennes, in the Ardennes. Like those of Han and Dinant, it belongs to a group of caves formed in the Givetian limestone of the Devonian. Carved into the rock, it descends more than fifty metres underground.
The Nichet caves have kept a wild character and are one of the most charming curiosities of the Ardennes. Fourteen species of bats have been identified here, and their plants and wildlife are of particular interest to scientists. The visit reveals this natural environment in a setting with few facilities: wear good shoes and warm clothing.
