Grotte des Grandes Canalettes
On the Perpignan–Andorra route, 200 m from the medieval town of Villefranche-de-Conflent, the Grandes Canalettes cave is one of the last caves developed in France.
It opened to the public at Easter 1984. The White Room, discovered on 8 May 1982 by Edmond Delonca, is by itself a real little underground museum. To date, no discovery so recent is known to have been presented to the public.
This cave is ranked as the most complete and most beautiful developed network. The extraordinary acoustics of the final room, the Temple of Angkor (60 m in diameter), has made it possible to organise classical music concerts.
