Mosset
Between Perpignan and Font-Romeu, the commune of Mosset is one of the largest in the Pyrénées-Orientales département, with a vast territory of 7,120 hectares, for an elevation difference of nearly 2,000 m.
A medieval village, a former border town between the Kingdom of France and that of Aragon, Mosset keeps traces of its rich past.
As you wander its lanes, you will discover the remains of the ramparts, the towers and the curtain walls of the old castle that still survive. You can also visit the church of Saint-Julien and Sainte-Basilisse, with its bell tower topped by a two-hundred-year-old pine, but also the Capelleta, a small building in the Romanesque tradition probably built in the thirteenth century.
