Parc animalier de Casteil
The Casteil Animal Park is, above all, an oasis of peace, in perfect communion with nature. Just think: a zoo spread over 20 hectares, in the middle of the commune's 2,983 hectares, at the foot of the Tour de Goa, between 797 m (bear territory) and 967 metres' altitude (fallow deer route), a small river you cross by the "Lynx Eye" bridge and breathtaking views of the Cady valley,
the Abbey of Saint-Martin-du-Canigou, the valley descending to Vernet-les-Bains, the little village of Casteil and, of course, Canigou (the sacred mountain of the Catalans).
A signposted route that can be taken in either direction, as you wish, at your own pace.
Many benches are scattered along this walk of nearly 3.5 kilometres.
