Gorges du Blavet
The Blavet gorges are at Bagnols-en-Forêt, in the Var. The Blavet is a small river that rises in the commune before joining the Argens at Roquebrune-sur-Argens. It has carved gorges with red walls into the rock, typical of this area near the Estérel, with cliffs, scrubland and cork oak forests.
The site is explored on foot, along paths and from viewpoints on the departmental road, with fine light in the late afternoon. Quiet and unspoilt, away from the coast, it combines well with Bagnols-en-Forêt, the Estérel massif and the back roads of the Var hinterland. Take care in summer, as access to the massif is restricted during periods of fire risk.
