Gorges d'Ubrieux

Drôme, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Ubrieux Gorges form a listed natural site about 3 kilometres from the village of Buis-les-Baronnies, in the Drôme Provençale. The Ouvèze flows quietly there between the road and a rocky cliff, creating a setting that is both wild and easily accessible.

The site is a major climbing spot in the Baronnies, with many routes spread over several sectors along the wall. A small pebble beach by the river allows swimming and picnicking in summer, although the water level can be low in high season; remain vigilant about sudden floods after a storm upstream.

The gorges also serve as a starting point for several walking or cycling routes along the Ouvèze valley, notably towards the Olivettes hill or the Col de Milmandre. The round trip from the centre of Buis-les-Baronnies takes about 1.5 to 2 hours for a distance of 4 km, on an easy to moderate route suitable for families.
