Les Sucettes de Borne

Drôme, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Sucettes de Borne are limestone needles in the commune of Glandage, in the Drôme, at about 1,090 metres' altitude. These blades of hard limestone, several dozen metres high, stand where erosion has removed the soft marls around them; some visitors compare them to Cappadocia.

They are reached on foot by a waymarked path along the Puscle stream from the car park near the hamlet of Borne. The route covers about 1.9 km with 170 metres of ascent, taking about forty minutes.

The site has a climbing area, with routes up to 45 metres. A longer circuit via Grimone and the Jiboui pastures is reported closed on one section since May 2023.
