Écomusée du pays de la cerise
The Eco-museum of the Cherry Country, at Fougerolles in the Haute-Saône, is set in a former distiller's estate and reflects 150 years of techniques, trade and know-how. The visit begins in front of the imposing master's house and introduces the families who mastered the surprising alchemy of turning fermented fruit into a crystal-clear spirit: kirsch.
On this large farming estate, daily life in the Haute-Saône and kirsch distilling techniques are presented in a resolutely modern display combining exhibitions, films, multimedia terminals and soundscapes. Surrounded by a conservation orchard, the eco-museum offers an exploratory route full of colour.
